The Martyres.
10. And since thou so desirously
Didst long to die, that long before thou couldst
And long since thou no more couldst dy
Thou in thy Scattered Mistique body, wouldst
An Able die, and ever since
In thine lett their blood come
To begg for vs, a discreete patience
Of death, or of worse life, for oh to some
Nott to bee Martyrs, is a Martyrdome|
The Confessors.
11. Therfore with thee tryvmpheth there
A Virgin Squadron of white Confessors
Whose bloodes betroathd, not married were
Tendred, not taken, by those Ravishers
They know, and praie, that wee may know
In every Christian
Howrely tempestuous Persecutions grow;
Tentations Martyr vs aliue: A Man
Is to himselfe a Diocletian |
Thhe Virgins.
12. Thy cold white snowye Nunnerie
Which, as thy Mother, their high Abbesse sent
Their bodies back againe to thee
As thou hadst lent them, cleane, and Innocent
Though they haue not obtaind of thee
That, or thy Church, or I
Should keepe, as they, our first integritie
Diuorce thou Sinne in vs, or bid itt die
And call chast Widdow-hood, Virginitie.|
