22. In churches, where the Infirmitie
Of him, that speakes, Diminishes the word
When Magistrates doe Misapplie
To vs, as wee iudge, lay, or ghostly sword
When Plaque, which is thine Angell, raignes,
Or warrs thy Champions, sway
When Heresy, thy second deluge, gaines
In the Hower of death, the Eve of last Iudgment daie.

23. Heer vs o heare vs Lord; to thee
A sinner is more Musique, when hee praies
Then Spheres, or Angells praises bee
In Panegirique Alleluyas.
Heare vs for till thou heare vs Lord,
Wee know not whatt to saie.
Thine eare to our sighes, teares, thoughts giues voyce and word
O thou which Satan hardst, in Iobs sicke daie.
Heare thy selfe now; for thou in vs dost praie.|

24. That wee may change to euennes
This intermittinge Aguish Pietie
That snatching crampes of wickednes
And Apoplexies of fast Sinne may die
That Musique of thy promises.
Nott threates in thvnder, may
Awaken vs, to our Iust offices,
Whatt in thy Booke thou dost, or creatures saie
That wee may heere, Lord heare vs, when wee praie.|
