19 Arise, crie in the Night; powre forth thy sinnes,
Thy hart, like water, when the watch beginnes
Lift vp thy hands to God, least children die,
Which fainte for hunger, in the streetes doe lie.
20 Behold, O Lord, consider vnto whome
Thou hast done thus: What shall the women come
To eat their Children of a Span? shall thy
Prophett and Priest bee slaine in Sanctuarie?
21 On ground in streetes, the young, and old doe lie
My Virgins and young Men by sword doe die.
Them in the daie of thy wrath thou hast slayne,
Nothing did thee from killing them? contayne
22 As to a solemne feast, all whome I feard
Thou callest aboute mee. when his wrath appeard
None did remayne, or scape: for those which I
Brought vp did perish by mine Enemie.
Chap: 3
V:1 I am the man, which hath affliction seene
Vnder the Rodd of Gods wrath having beene.
2 Hee hath led mee to darkness; not to light
3 And against mee all daie his hand doth fight.
4 Hee hath broke my bones; worne out my flesh and skyn,
5 Built vp against mee, and hath girt mee in
With Hemlock, and with Labour. 6 and sett mee |
