V: 1. How over Sions daughter hath God hong
His wraths thick Clowd? And from the heaven hath flong
To Earth the beautie of Israell; and hath
Forgott his footestoole in the daie of wrath.

2 The Lord vnsparingly hath swallowed
All Iacobs dwellinges, and demolished
To ground the strengths of Iuda, and profaind
The Princes of the Kingdome and the Land.

3 In heate of wrath, the horne of Israell hee
Hath cleane cutt off; And least the Enemie
Bee hindred, his right hand hee doth retire,
But is towards Iacob all=deuouring fire.

4 Like to an Enimye hee bent his bowe.
His right hand was in posture of a Foe,
To kill what Sions daughter did desire,
Gainst whome, his wrath, hee powrd forth, like a fire.

5 For like an Enimie, Ievouah is,
Deuouringe Israel, and his Pallaces
Destroyinge holds; giuing additions
To Iudas Daughters Lamentations.

6 Like to A Garden hedge, hee hath cast downe
The place: Where was his Congregation
And Sions feastes, and Sabothes are forgott.
