Noct ["Tis the yeares midnight, and it is the daies;"]

Hee ruind mee, and I am rebegott
Of absence, darknes, death, things which are not.
All others from all thinges drawe all thats good;
Life, Soule, forme, spiritt, whence they beinge haue;
I by loues Lymbecke am the Graue
Of all, thats nothinge. Oft a flood
Haue wee two wept and so
Drownd the whole world, vs two; oft did wee growe
To bee two Chaosses, when wee did showe
Care to ought els; And often absenses
Withdrew our Soules, and made vs Carcasses.

But I am by her death (which word wrongs her)
Of the first nothinge, the Elixer growne;
Were I a man; that I were one
I needes mvst knowe; I should preferr
If I ware any beast
Some ends, some meanes; yea plantes, yea stones detest
And loue: All, all some properties invest
If I an ordinarye nothinge were
As shadowe, A light, and body mvst bee here.
But I am none: Nor will my Sun renew
Yow louers, for whose sake the lesser Sunne
At this time to the, goate is runn
To feach new lust, and giue it yow
Enioy your Summer all
Since shee enioyes her long nights festiuall,
Let mee prepare towards her, and let mee call
This hower, her Vigill, and her hue since this
Both the yeeres, and the daies deepe Midnight is|
