Damp ["When I am dead, and Doctours know not why,"]

Meete mee at London then
Twentie daies hence, and thou shalt see
Mee fresher, and more fatt by being with men,
Then if I had staid still with her and thee;
For Gods sake if yow can bee yow soe too,
I would giue yow
There to another friend, whome wee shall finde
As glad to haue my body, as my minde.|

The Dampe

When I am dead, and Doctours know not why,
And my friends curiositie
Will haue mee cutt vp, to suruey each part
When they shall finde your Picture in my Hart.
Yow thinke a Suddaine damp of Loue
Will through all their senses moue
And worke on them as mee; and soe preferr
Your Mvrder to the Name of Massacre.

Pore victories; but if yow dare bee braue,
And pleasure in your conquest haue
First kill the enormous Gyant your disdaine,
And lett the Enchantresse honor next bee slaine
And like a Goth, and Vandale rise,
Deface Records and Histories
Of your owne Arts, and tryvmphes over men
And with out such aduantage kill mee then.
