Canon ["For Gods sake hold your tounge, and let mee loue"]

Starrs by the Sun are not enlargd, but showne;
Gentele Loue deedes, as blossoms on a bowe,
From Loues awakened roote doe bud out nowe
If as in water stird more circles bee
Producd by one, loue, such additions take
Those like to many Spheares, but one heauen make,
For they are all concentrique vnto thee;
And though each springe doe add to loue new heate
As Princes doe in times of action gett
New taxes, and remitt them not in peace,
Noe Winter shall abate the Springes encrease.|

The Canonization.

For Gods sake hold your tounge, and let mee loue
Or chide my Palsie, or my gowte,
My fiue gray haires, or ruind fortune flowte
With wealth your state yowr mynde with arts improue
Take yow a course. gett yow a place
Obserue his honor or his grace
And the Kyngs reall, or his stamped face
Contemplate, what yow will approue
Soe yow will let mee loue.
